Antique Kenton “Overland Circus” Cast Iron Horse-Drawn Circus Wagon Toy & Carved Wood Lion Your Purchase Helps Support A Disabled Army Veteran Injured In Iraq Up for sale is this antique horse-drawn circus wagon toy / collectible. It is constructed of cast iron. It is 2 pieces- the horses with base or hitch and the cart portion that has wheels. The cart portion has a gate that opens, allowing the lion to “roam” out with the option to place other animals of your choosing. The lion is hand carved and made of wood. It dates back to the 1930-s-1940s. It would make a fine collectible toy or decor piece in a bedroom for a child (or an adult!) It is in overall excellent condition with some paint wear that is consistent with age. One horse is missing its wheel, but the toy will still roll on the floor. The horse and wagon measure approximately 14” long, 4” wide, and 6 ⅛” tall. The lion is approximately 5” long, 2 ¼” tall, and 1 ½” wide. This item was made by Kenton Hardware Company, primarily known for making cast iron toys, which included horse-drawn vehicles, where the “Overland Circus” was a specific series featuring circus-themed wagons, animals, and performers, often considered highly collectible by toy enthusiasts today.
