Vignettes of the State Capital at center with allegorical figures upper left and right. Shields with legends at lower left and right. “ISSUED FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA RAILROAD COMPANY… .” Large “1000” in blue. Engraved by the American Banknote Co., N.Y. Signed by Treasurer D.A. Jenkins and Gov. William W. Holden. Very fine condition overall; edge tear bottom left; small holes from fold wear, and some minor separation at border of embossed NC State Seal; the usual folds; 59 of 60 interest coupons intact, as normally found.
